we are a May 8 filer ,I've just successfully booked my interview. i just have a question for anyone who has an idea about this; the consulate has set me a package in the mail pointing out the things i need to bring to my interview, the i-134 being one of them, and it further stated that

"Affidavit of Support (including tax returns): All applicants are required to have an Affidavit of Support (Form I- 134– http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-134.pdf and an IRS Tax Return). It is required for ALL applicants to demonstrate that the immigrant is not likely to become a public charge while in the United States. A downloaded or scanned photocopy of the Affidavit of Support (I-134) is also acceptable"

Pls can someone explain if this means that my spouse can fill the i-134, sign it, then scan and send it to me....i copied the text in quote verbatim from the letter i was sent by the consulate...

That’s strange. I wouldn’t chance it. If you just booked your interview, you have some time from now until then. Have them fill it out, print, sign it, and mail it to you. You’re also going to need a new intent to marry signed by both parties, so they’re gonna have to mail those to you as well. Gather all the evidence you need from them, and have them fedex, or whatever express mail service is available to your country. You don’t wanna be denied, or prolong your approval on something so small and preventable like that.

thanks for your response, i was thinking in the same line. however, how do you mean the new intent to marry has to be signed by both parties? because my spouse will be writing one and signing it...does it mean i have to write one too and sign it ?

You need a new intent to marry. The one you sent with your petition is months old by now and you need a new statement that both of you do still wanna marry each other within 90 days of your arrival. Whatever it is that you did for your petition, if you had one intent to marry signed by both parties, or each of you had your own, print that out again, sign it with a new date.
