Qualifying to file

Hello everyone, 

 

I have a question about filing n400.

I appologize if this has been answered before or if it's "common knowledge" here on the forum but I don't want to make a mistake.

 

I have been a permanent resident for 6+ years. I got my status through marriage to my husband. We are still married. We are not sure if I should file N400 "based" on marriage, or should I file based on being a permanent resident for over 5 years (thus less paperwork to prove our relationship).

i guess you can do it either way BUT i suggest filing under 5 years

you don't have to prove that your marriage is bona fide
