I have not posted in a long time.

FINALLY! My status changed to "Interview has been scheduled". Next week will make it one year since i applied for AOS. I guess Chicago is a busy city. Just a few questions.

1. I have a joint house lease, Joint car insurance, Joint bank statement, Joint Phone bills and A picture Album. Will that be enough to show proof of joint relationship with my spouse? Or do i need more than that. I have read on other posts where people took in loads and loads of documents. Does it really matter?

2.How soon will the interview letter get to my mail box after my status changed online?

Did you have to wait for a notice to come in the mail to find out when your interview is?

We got an email today that sounded like my wife's interview had been scheduled and we would receive something in the mail. But they couldn't tell her on the phone when the interview is, and online her case still shows "Ready to be scheduled for an interview"

(I'm a citizen who petitioned AOS for my wife to go from student visa to green card)

12/13/2017 - Mailed I-130, I-485, I-693, I-864 and I-765 to Chicago

12/16/2017 - USPS confirms delivery

12/21/2017 - Received email confirmation, checks are cashed. Receipts in the mail shortly after.

1/11/2018 - Received Biometrics appointment notification for I-485 and I-765

1/22/2018 - Biometrics appointment complete

1/22/2018 - Received notification in the mail that our I-693 is the incorrect version, bring update to interview.

1/29/2018 - I-485 changes to "We are scheduling your interview" but only on my.uscis.gov not egov.uscis.gov

4/13/2018 - I-765 updated to "New Card Is Being Produced"

4/21/2018 - I-765 Received

Just got home from our interview in Atlanta.

Interview wasn't very long, maybe 20-30 minutes. The officer barely flipped through our evidence (I had prepared a whole binder) and asked questions based on what she saw, for example, she looked at a bank statement and asked my wife where we bank. She seemed a little surprised we own a house together, but didn't get into anything in much detail.

What was frustrating was that we found out an application my wife made a few years ago (before we met) had actually been approved. Her lawyer was terrible, never updated her on things or provided any documentation, and when she spoke to him last she was told it had been denied. Apparently he had tried again and was successful but never mentioned it. The officer said my wife could have had her green card a couple years ago.

In this case we didn't get any information to go by though, she just told us we'd hear a decision in 4-6 weeks.

EAD just got approved! Here's our timeline:

Sent Packet 12/22

Received 12/29

NOA1 Notice Date 1/9

Biometrics 2/2

Request to Expedite EAD submitted 2/2

Requested Congressman to help with EAD expediting 2/2

Received email asking for job offer/proof to fax to USCIS 2/6

Sent back fax 2/6

Requested Senator's help with EAD 2/15

Requested Ombudsman help with EAD 2/15

Card in Production (!!) notice 3/1

Hi! When you get help from Senator and Ombudsman, what do you say to them? Do you tell them you already had congressman involved?

My congressman submitted a exepdite request for me and received reply that my file's been requested and they will make a decision in 30 days.

I plan to reach out to senator if I don't hear back from congressman's end in two or three weeks. I am a bit worried that by getting senator involved, USCIS will give me another "30 day" wait period to start the clock again...Or, do congressman and senator work through different channels?

Your experience and advice is much appreciated!
