I would be getting the health inspector in ther ASAP!! I'm sure with his report of mold, you would be allowed ou of ur lease ASAP!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Black mold, nasty stuff.

http://www.toxic-black-mold-info.com/

A friend of mine had a son that was very sickly (medical problems his whole life of 8 years), but he ended up dying from the effects of black mold that was in a NEW home that my friend had built. My friend proved in court that it was the fault of the contractor and ended up suing for millions .. he would much rather have his son back with him..

ditto. the landlord is useless.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Karen - did you put down a security deposit ?

No...there was just a verbal agreement on what she wanted per month for rent. Nothing on paper.

I work as an allergy nurse and I see people on a daily basis with the same symptoms you are having. When someone has mold in their home we will often suggest they have their home tested for mold to see exactly what type of mold is in the home. You hear a lot about the "black mold" that causes so many health problems. The company we use to test for mold says it's pretty rare to have this mold in your home, other molds are very common. The most common mold in the home is alternaria, cladosporium, aspergillus and helminthosporium just to name a few. Get things checked out. All that mold isn't good for you.

These are the things we're experiencing in this house. Joel was fine health wise until he moved here...now he's on cholesterol meds and blood pressure meds and a lot of the symptoms below are me right now. Our daughter has just recently (like in the last month or two) been diagnosed as having Petit Mal Seizures (a type of epilepsy) and has also been diagnosed with learning disabilities about two years ago. It scares me...

3. acid reflux / indigestion

4. acne

5. allergies and anaphylaxis [severe allergic reaction]

39. eye irritation (burning, watery, or reddened eyes)

I'm so sorry to hear this! It is scary. All of these symptoms I never dreamed could be caused by mold. The pediatricians and my doctors wouldn't consider mold as a problem. My child was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago with a learning disability and my husband who has been here for 5 months has a lot of these symptoms too.

I kept telling myself I was overreacting to blame these things on the mold. Now I'm angry that we have all wasted so much time and money not feeling well and it's because of this house.
