So I put in the receipt number to the USCIS website and looked at the processing times. It said that they are currently processing February 2017 applications.....(here comes the dumb question) does this mean that you can expect around an 11 month wait if they are processing applications from 11 months back? 

I really am confused with this whole process so I am trying to understand it step by step. 

I have read up about it and read the step by step process, but still trying to figure it all out.

Just to give you a bit more perspective. My NOA1 was back in February 2017 and my I-130 was approved at the end of August.

That CAN BE visa fraud but certainly wouldn't be in this case because the OP states they got married ON A WHIM.  So, either way, no problem.  No special visa is required in order to get married in the

I know what you mean but others may not.  NOTHING stops the foreigner EVER from leaving the USA.  The issue is getting back in after filing to adjust status.

That's really good to know! Thank you! I am English also, so that gives me a good indication. (I know it doesn't always work like that)
