on the additional names part of the g325a, do they mean official names? nicknames? or what? Like my fiancees name is jenifer with one N. sometimes people misspell it and add the additional N like they do in the U.S. does this matter since its the same name? her birth certificate and eveyrthing has just one but her health insurance card, they misspelled and added the second N. is this kinda trivial? since its the same name, my gut tells me just to put n/a

I don't think that's significant enough to list as a separate name. My husband put a different spelling of his name as an additional name. However the difference was significant and it was due to translations of arabic names into French vs. Italian; both names he used on official documents.

Don't write N/A though. You should write "none" instead.

Hello !!!!

What they mean by the "additional names" is other legal surnames names used in the past or present via marriage, divorce, adoption, or perhaps different name used on a professional license.

Anything legal is what they're looking for.

The small nuances of a mispelled name aren't worth your time writing down. In fact, they could prove confusing... In the beginning, it is rather intimidating when filing out those forms...take a deep breath and carry on !

Best of Luck to you and wishing you a speedy journey !

Thanks for your responses! When I talked to her about it, she said when she was applying for her tourist visa, when they asked for additional names, she put jennifer with 2 ns because of the common typo that many people do with her name. She didnt know it was just for surnames for whatever reason. thats the main reason why i was concerned, I thought that they might compare her past applications or something and find the name spelled with the additional ´N and then penalize us for lying or something. I want everything clean and honest. Since its the same name, i really dont think it matters. and from what was said here about it only being official surnames and all.

I wouldnt be worried about the extra N. To my knowledge when they do the security checks they will put in all the different variables in spelling anyway.

I always wondered what they'd do if I listed 'Sheena, Queen of the jungle' as my additional name.

But I figured I ought to not push my luck.
