We arrived on an IR1 visa, everything went smooth, SSN in hand, waiting on green card. Question - are we required to get married? Is there a time limit or any other requirments that we should be aware of? There is no talk of this in the process or with the paper work.

You do not have to get married again in the USA.  Your marriage in your home country is valid.  You could choose to renew your wedding vows in the USA if you want to but it is not necessary.

Agreed, there is no immigration obligation to get married again, but a couple can certainly choose to do a renewal ceremony and have a party for family and friends in the US.

A legal marriage overseas is recognised here in the United States. That's why there's no mention of getting married in the paperwork - it's already done.

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!
