So I went for my visa interview on November 1st in Accra and all went well. I was denied K1 last year on the basis of traditional marriage, so my wife had to come to Ghana for the white wedding. After, I filed in August 2016. This is my embassy experience.

i got to the embassy at 7:30am and immediately I am allowed to enter. At about 10:15 I was called to window 5 and my evidence were taken. 10:45am I was called to window 7 and after 5 mins I was approved. I was just asked when our wedding was, my wife's occupation, when she first traveled to USA and that's it.

I am am sure I had it easy because I made sure I provided good evidence and God was with me all through.

1. I make comb binding of our chat, Facebook stuff, iMessage, viber, emails n all forms of correspondence from 2014 and I made sure it was done year by year so it won't be bulky.

2. Western unions receipts and FedEx invoices.

3. Wedding pictures, causal pictures, pictures with friends and family.

Above all, if u have a legit relationship everything will be fine. Am now in Atlanta Georgia with my wife . Thank you Visa Journey people for the tips and info. Let me know if u need any more info.

My fiance was refused the k1 visa under 221(g). The case is being mail back to washington dc. The officer did not give my fiance any reason why it was being mail back. What did u do after it was denied? Or what can we do now moving forwar?

Should we wait until it gets to Washington, DC and appeal or get married after the case is closed?

i can not tell why it was denied but the little advice i can give is, let your fiancé come to Ghana and get married and apply i130 (CR1). do not wait to hear from them. there is no chance after k1 is denied just move on and get married and apply for the cr1.
