DS-5535/US Embassy/ London

2 questions:

How many people have been issued a rejection during the interview and had to complete the form DS-5535?
Any idea how long "Administrative Processing" is taking currently at the US Embassy in London?

 

My Interview was November 20th, so 2 weeks ago, and the "Last Updated" date hasn't changed since the Monday after (presumably when they received my emailed copy of the form)

not London .. but i know a lot of people getting issued DS-5535 in Pakistan

 

Is your travel history in middle eastern countries ? or dual citizenship ?

 

why do you think they gave you DS-5535

I can't find evidence of anyone in the UK being issued a ds5535. And with my travel history, I have been nowhere other than the States and Western Europe in the last 15 years.

They might have just randomly selected you for completing a DS5535, you might just have been unlucky. Did they keep your passport?

Are you Muslim, related to anyone Muslim,  born outside the UK especially in any terrorist related country, or have  skills, training, or work in certain scientific fields?

 

It's a judgement call that you might need further security screening and that will be decided (additional security screening) based on your answers on the form.

Yeah, they kept my passport, which is why I'm not freaking out.

Being Muslim has nothing to do with it from my understanding. Can you imagine if the US government were seen to be profiling Muslims? I'm just the first person I know who literally fits none of the so called threat possibility:

1. I'm atheist. 

2. Nothing in my social media contains anything other pics of gardening and videos of funny dogs. 

3. I've been nowhere other than western Europe / US in the last 15 years. 

 

I think it has to be a random selection to be asked to complete the form. The human rights violations are numerous if they are doing it by a list of what fits a terr0r1st profile.

@javonsbravoMy visa was issued 4 weeks after the DS5535 was returned to the embassy. Are you going through the same thing?

I am in AP since 7th Feb.. after submitting ds5535 on same day with no update till today... from Pakistan

We are in the same boat!

Husband is British born, never been to a Muslim country & nothing on social media to offend! Bee waiting over 30 days for any acknowledgment and due to go Florida on holiday next Friday! Very upset
