I have not posted in a long time.

FINALLY! My status changed to "Interview has been scheduled". Next week will make it one year since i applied for AOS. I guess Chicago is a busy city. Just a few questions.

1. I have a joint house lease, Joint car insurance, Joint bank statement, Joint Phone bills and A picture Album. Will that be enough to show proof of joint relationship with my spouse? Or do i need more than that. I have read on other posts where people took in loads and loads of documents. Does it really matter?

2.How soon will the interview letter get to my mail box after my status changed online?

first congrats, we had our interview at 1 yr and 1 day since we filed . All they asked from us was Joint bank statements and Insurance cards. Now your field office might be different, but what you listed should be plenty, just add your health insurance cards to that list. My wife did the same with tons of pics also. They didnt even look at them. Better safe than sorry though. Good luck with your interview.

Had our interview today.

Everything went smooth  we were only asked for our IDs and the beneficiaries passport. I took a finger print from each hand and a photo which he took super fast so be prepared. They asked my husband (the sponsor) how we met. Than asked me  a bunch of the questions straight from our application. He asked if we have any photos of our wedding day (we got married at rhe courthouse) i only printed a few photos on paper which was good enough) And than hes like do you want to add any evidence so i started to give him all my evidence and he said thats enough. Lol

Than he said i should have a green card within 3 weeks and asked if my name is on the mailbox.i said yes and that was that.

Fyi- chicago- We got to the interview 40 min early even though they said dont come more than 30 min early its okay to go inside and register to get a number ours was k77 they call the numbers our randomly ..we sat in a waiting room. And were called within 15 min so i think we got into the room closer to 11ish than 1115 which was our appointment time.

Super stress free!! Yay!

In the office I was in (Atlanta), I was able to see that they work with an appointment system per officer and per time.

So for example,

officer Abrams has couple X at 9, couple Y at 9:30, couple X at 10:00,

officer Burton might have couple D at 9, couple E at 9:30, couple F at 10:00.

That is how their planning looks like it seems (although the times might be different of course; this is just an example).

As a consequence, it seems random:

for example, if you are assigned to officer Abrams, and the couple in front of you aren't there yet, you can come in earlier as Abrams has nothing else to do at that point.

But if you are assigned to officer Burton, and the couple in front of you are a difficult case, you might be stuck waiting for an hour extra. And during your waiting time, you might see couples who came in later than you going into other officer's rooms.

I am not 100% sure this is what it looks like for all the other offices, but it's definitely what it was like in my case.

I knew up front who would be our officer because I read his name on their schedule. I think before us, there was a difficult case, because many people went in front of us with other people (some of which came in only five minutes before the time), and we were kept waiting for over an hour despite being early. Then again, our officer said that it was a senior officer, and he was able to make the decision on the spot, so for that reason alone, I was quite happy and did not mind waiting an extra hour.

Yes i agree with everything you said. Seemed the same for us. Many people were waiting long before us and we got in after a short time. Either way it would be worth the wait :)

Hey!

I use: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

You should check the phone ap too. Uscis case tracker.

Are you typing in the correct # such as MSC..........

Just an fyi somewhere mid my waiting time so a few months in which was a few months ago my case tracker just sat in error aswell. I was told its  it a  issue and just to wait ...it took about a year for my interview to get scheduled so if yours is in error dont worry its just their computer system it doesnt actually effect your case.  I was also told they have two systems and need to transfer people from one to the other so maybe thats why..im really not sure ?
