When we went in I had the correct forms all printed out for them and they would not take them stating they had their own forms and it turns out they are the incorrect forms. I will go back Monday morning and speak with a manager. I tried to talk with one today but 'nobody was in' and then 'they were at home sick'. My husband and I are so upset with the incompetence of everything and everyone. Can we not just catch a break......

Omygosh I could not imagine how you feel that is the worst ! Maybe you can call the doctor directly or email him and surpass the admins.

I got received my EAD letter of approval today (April 16) for the April 11th approval. No EAD card just yet.

 

SADLY im so mad at myself, i totally should have applied for AP with everything else. They didnt add the AP approval to the EAD letter.  I tohught maybe they would check if i had a pending AP but i guess now. so i guess ill be waiting another 5 months for AP ... lol  lesson learned.

 

Something that annoyed me though..is that.. they only gave me 1 year on the EAD. I could understand this for States that approve Green Cards within a year but Chicago is 1 year to 2.5 years right now. So im not sure why the USCIS website says they can give you 1 year or 2 year EAD cards. maybe all K1 visas get 1 yr?

I hope that a year from now i dont have to stop working because my ead isnt renewed HAHA. that would be the worst! 

 

Its been quiet in here.. i hope we hear some approvals and interviews come through this week!

My husband got his 2 letters Saturday as well but no card either. His approval was 4/10. Hopefully his card comes this week. It's funny you mention the 1 year expiration because I thought the same thing. The SD field office is pretty backed up as well but i guess we'll worry about that later. We have a solid 9 months before we have to start stressing about it

 

UPDATE- Just got an email that his card has been mailed. You'll probably get the same message tomorrow!

Oh awesome!! ill look out for the email.

And ya i just hope that 3 months to renew the EAD is enough.. I guess we wont worry about that for now ! haha

oh my case tracker updated now to card was mailed to me ! I think it takes about 3 days to get right?

I am trying to find a I-765 form (employment authorization) that doesn't expire on 2-28-18 I've checked the USCIS website and VIsajourney. Any concerns I should have with just turning this one in?

No ..they always use old forms unless it specifically says not to it's okay. Dont worry! If they make a change they will give a good 3 month overlap window.

Just checked my case status online for EDA ---> "New Card is being produced". What a relief!!!

Hopefully, my travel authorization is coming soon too?
