It seems like expedite requests can take up to 2 months these day. Maybe even more... If I were you, I would tell them the truth and what your plans are. If you do get that job, ask them to issue a letter for you so you can have basis to expedite. Be transparent I would advice.

I had my biometrics done late December 2017, and have yet to get anything in the mail.

I just checked the USCIS my case status and this is what it says:

As of January 31, 2018, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number --------- , for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

It is now March 1st, 2018 and I haven't gotten a letter in the mail. Is this normal? Was I supposed to get a receipt of some sort?
Just wanted to double check with you guys in case mail is lost/stolen. I just fear that for some reason the mail gets lost and we miss out on the interview!

You won't receive a letter until your interview is actually scheduled, which is entirely dependent on which local office your application will be through.

I've had this same status since the beginning of February and I'm not expecting anything till possibly the end of the year because that's how far behind the Miami office is.

Hi all,

Just wandering if any December filers have been approved for EAD (Non-Expedited)?It just seems to be dragging. Is the online case status supposed to change after the biometrics?

Is it just me or does the K-1 process get a little bit forgotten. It seems a bit frustrating that here in CA that we are not able to get a drivers licence because we need the EAD to get one? Like we neither residents with work authorisation or illegal immigrants? Just seems to be in the middle grey area?

It looks like they just don't care some expedite requests. My timeline of request is the same with @kvito28, but instead of asking evidence, they just closed the request on feb 12th. Now i am facing to lose the job, because I was supposed to start yesterday:( I just don't understand, really frustrating... I made another request to expedite, I really hope to hear smt soon, because i think company gave me another two weeks, aftet that i will lose the job.

I agree that USCIS is very unpredictable, but I also want to mention that my circumstances were very different from those who submitted an expedited request based on a job offer. I work for a small company in which I am the only full time employee and I 100% manage one of its locations. We are customer service business. My grounds of expedited request was severe financial loss to a company first and then to me (I am also a joint sponsor on I-864 and have a letter of continuation from my employer). Due to the nature of the business, it was impossible to replace me and the place would have been shut down had I not obtained EAD on time. I believe that while your situation is very urgent, USCIS receives thousands of applications that are basically the same as yours and that only few requests stand out. I really hope that you get it on time and start working soon. I thought, I would share my story so members of VJ won't treat my expedited request as one that is based on a job offer.

Still waiting here as well.  I feel like the process just completely stopped.  I know a lot of people saw "action" when their status changed to "case is ready to be scheduled for interview" which gave me hope but that stopped too (I know AOS is different depending on where you live and it's separate from AP/AED).  When my husband got here in November, AP/AED approval times were averaging about 2-3 months.  Things have certainly changed since then!  Not sure why it's so difficult to approve AP/AED... He was only here a couple weeks before we applied.  The ink wasn't even dry on his Visa yet!

Oh, ok, yours is more urgent then. I can understand that. But, what i don't understand is that they must send a response indicating of denial of the request. But even without asking any evidence, they just closed it. I saw some denied requests and they got the response indicating that. I guess i will just have to wait and hope for the best. Anyway, thank you for all the kind words and information:)

I wish ours moved as quickly as that. I arrived in September and took 10 weeks to get the marriage certificate through (apparently normal for LA). If i knew that before getting married in LA county I would have looked further out!

Ours took 10 days.  They told us it would take longer but I marched myself to the county clerks office in San Diego with my fingers crossed and they gave me a copy.  For a fee of course!  I wish I could do the same with USCIS!  I would march down there right now and request the AP/EAD.  Shoot, I'd be willing to pay extra to get it!

Seems like the guys down there are a little more helpful. We tried after 3 weeks and they just said "Nope, it takes at least 8 weeks". I would have paid extra to get it quicker but thats not available.
