Medical

Hi everyone

I have CR-1 interview on Monday. I had my medical on the 23rd November and then it was found that I needed to get an MMR jab. So i had that at my local GP ON WEDNESDAY and then sent the vaccination summary to the Knightsbridge Doctors. They said that my medical results will not reach in time for my visa interview. What happens now?

go to the interview

they will put you in AP until the medical is received

Thank you for your answer. I want to be able to go to the US and be there with my wife for Christmas, do you think it will still be possible?

It's a tough question to answer, could be a case of how long is a piece of string.

When I got my visa at Knightsbridge just over a year ago, I had my passport in hand about 5 working days after being accepted at the interview - however I wasn't put into AP so I would say that will add a week at least to your case.

I'd also factor in the Christmas period coming up, they may be short staffed with people taking time off for vacations etc.

However you may find because it was just a jab and not an entire medical they have to sift through that it may be there already.

As said above, go to the interview and everything will be fine. :)

Nobody can answer that question. Nobody knows exactly when the medical will arrive or how long you may be in AP.

Did the doctor office fax your immunization to Knightsbridge on Wednesday? That is typically done. Then they can send over the medical that day or next. It's by courier so arrives same day sent to embassy.

How did you send it? When did it get there?

My wife took about 2 weeks to get her visa after her interview (in March 2017). That was without any delay. So you'd be looking at like December 150-20th without any delays. With the delay, you'll be cutting it close to get to the USA by Christmas.

I sent it by email. The doctor gave me the vaccination record and then I emailed it the same day. She said that if I don't get a call today from the Nurse (which I haven't), it will go to panel and then from there it will be sent to the embassy. She did say on the phone that they would get it either Monday or Tuesday.
