Don’t despair Norwegian Airlines is familiar with the I-551 stamp. I also used my I-551 stamp to get back to the U.S. with Norwegian Air this past summer from my vacation in London. I was there for a 2 week vacation with my wife. Upon checking in the check in staff had to call homeland security as part of the protocol for them to confirm my status and stamp verification.

 

It took roughly 5 mins simultaneously while I was weighing my bags to be completed. He got the green light then proceeded to print my boarding pass. The boarding pass had an inscription on it saying stamp on passport has been verified. 

 

What happened next at the boarding gate got me a little pissed while waiting for at my zone to board the plane. A chubby ####### with a badge on his neck with no manners came and asked to see my passport, opened a few pages and immediately asked in a condescending way what business I have in the U.S. 

 

I got pissed and reprimanded him in his face telling him to approach people better. He said he was with homeland security, asked for my visa which I told him I’m a permanent resident and don’t need one. Told him I’ve already been through this with homeland security in the U.S. and I don’t appreciate him wasting my time while we’re boarding in and I have clearance printed on my pass. 

 

He took out a mobile scanner and scanned through my passport pulling out my immigration record with DHS while scrolling through. He gave it back and told me good luck. Arrival in the U.S. in Seattle was a breeze though. CBP officer apologized for the monstrous wait times we’re experiencing here in Seattle. Told him “it’s alright that’s the federal government for ya” and he laughed then stamped and welcomed me home.

The officer needed from both me and my spouse:

 

  • Bank statements or letter from years 2016 to present;
  • Credit card statements from years 2016 to present;
  • Utility bills from years 2016 to present;
  • Medical insurance showing coverage of myself and USC spouse;
  • Insurance policy (if any);
  • Mortgage, lease, or notarized letter from the landlord for years 2016 to present;
  • Copy of tax transcripts from years 2016 & 2017; and
  • Copy of state identification or driver license.

My priority date is December 4, 2017. Thanks for the wishes, I did hear back today.

 

 

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).

Hello everyone,

 

Somehow I did not pay attention to a bi-weekly update email dated 11/20/2018 that stated the last action taken on case was 11/06/2018 (it was 08/27/2018 in prior emails). Even though there was a change in the last action taken date, the email still stated there were no updates on the case. In my call to USCIS 11/16/2018 I guess I was told (incorrectly) the case had been assigned to an officer 11/15/2018. I had checked the account on 11/22/2018 and again could not find an update. Today, I discover that I have been scheduled for oath ceremony in a notice dated November 21, 2018. Seems like the account took some time to update. Today, the case status in the account displays:

View your letter on your documents tab for the ceremony date, time, and location

Note: It may take up to a few days for your letter to show on your documents tab.

You will take the Oath of Allegiance and receive your Certificate of Naturalization at your ceremony. You will also return your Green Card and answer questions about your activity since your interview.

You will also have the opportunity to apply for a U.S. Passport/Passport Card, register to vote, and update your Social Security record.

What to bring

  • Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony (N-445)
  • Permanent Resident Card

So relieved to have all the waiting period done with. Seems like the process will be done in exactly an year since it started (NOA 12/08/17, interview 12/06/18). 12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.

Don’t despair Norwegian Airlines is familiar with the I-551 stamp. I also used my I-551 stamp to get back to the U.S. with Norwegian Air this past summer from my vacation in London. I was there for a 2 week vacation with my wife. Upon checking in the check in staff had to call homeland security as part of the protocol for them to confirm my status and stamp verification.

 

It took roughly 5 mins simultaneously while I was weighing my bags to be completed. He got the green light then proceeded to print my boarding pass. The boarding pass had an inscription on it saying stamp on passport has been verified. 

 

What happened next at the boarding gate got me a little pissed while waiting for at my zone to board the plane. A chubby ####### with a badge on his neck with no manners came and asked to see my passport, opened a few pages and immediately asked in a condescending way what business I have in the U.S. 

 

I got pissed and reprimanded him in his face telling him to approach people better. He said he was with homeland security, asked for my visa which I told him I’m a permanent resident and don’t need one. Told him I’ve already been through this with homeland security in the U.S. and I don’t appreciate him wasting my time while we’re boarding in and I have clearance printed on my pass. 

 

He took out a mobile scanner and scanned through my passport pulling out my immigration record with DHS while scrolling through. He gave it back and told me good luck. Arrival in the U.S. in Seattle was a breeze though. CBP officer apologized for the monstrous wait times we’re experiencing here in Seattle. Told him “it’s alright that’s the federal government for ya” and he laughed then stamped and welcomed me home.

 

 

Thank you so much. I might be a little too worry. I think as long as I have all the documents I should be ok.

We check online every day and saw on Monday that the interview had been scheduled, but it didn't have the date yet. Sometime on Tuesday the online system showed the date.  I assume they have mailed a letter, but we haven't received it yet.

Hi all, my online status says that my oath ceremony is scheduled. In the document section I can download the official letter with date, time and instructions. I was hoping I will receive this letter by mail as well but didn't. Should I be worried? The ceremony is tomorrow.
