Hello All,

I been reading this topic and I feel like its time to sign up for, I filed my N400 in december 2017 at the slowest office in nation at Oakland Park, FL.

PD date:12.07.17.

Schedule FP:12.15.17.

FP taken:01.05.18.

since Jan 5th, 2018, nothing change website says we currently review your case.

Estimated waiting is 8months to January 2019.

Please add me on the list, I think I am the only one filed in Oakland Park in here. Thank you.

Yes it can happen. Looks like the officer forgot to take steps to indicate the green card shouldn't be issued. Either way it's not a big deal as you'll just have it for a short time though since it will be surrendered on your oath day. 

Adjustment of Status From F-1 Visa.

8/14/2014: Mailed AOS package: I-130, I-485, I-765.

8/18/2014: Accepted in Chicago. Transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

8/21/2014: Received NOA 1. I-130, I-485, I-765 in mail.

8/25/2014: Received biometrics in mail. Scheduled for 9/8/2014

9/24/2014: EAD approved. 36 Days!

10/01/2014: EAD mailed.

10/03/2014: Received EAD card.

10/14/2014: I-485 moved to testing and interview.

If you feel like you are unlucky u should check Texas , and we will appreciate the 8 months that you have there

I agree with Asilarmani, Dallas is the slowest office ever.  Our wait time is 22 months.  My immigration I-30 was shorter than this N-400.

Folks, 

 

I had my interview this morning @ 9.30am at Mt Laurel NJ.

1. I arrived at exactly 8.30am, checked in with my notice and waited patiently.  The LCD TV in the living room kept showing some flash cards of the Civic Test, allowing me to revise a few questions.

 

2. I got called in around 10am (roughly 30 minutes late).  The officer was very nice, went through my application, made some minor changes to some check boxes that were blank.  

 

3. She administered the civic and english test, which I passed.

 

4.  All went well until the question on citations.  Mistakenly, I had noted that I got some traffic fines (all were under $300) but did not include a verification that they were paid.  So, she asked me to go to my county offices where I was ticketed and get verification and come back.  Note - these two places were at the two extreme ends of town, so I ended up using about 1.5hrs driving to both places to get the evidence of payment. Lesson learnt: get receipts (original copies) of all paid fines ready for your interview.

 

5. I got back around 12.00, she called me back in, I submitted the receipts and was approved.

 

6. Since they have same-day oath ceremonies, I waited around until about 3Pm and took the oath of citizenship.

 

Wheeewwww -- over for now .....  onto the next step - sponsorship of my wife.

Hi everyone,

 

I have a question regarding address change. 

I filed my application mid December 2017, did my fingerprints shortly after. In February I got a notification on my USCIS phone app that there has been a status update regarding my case. When I checked it changed from the same status to the same status, which is basically "we are actively reviewing your case...".

 

I am planning on Moving from TX to CA next month and was wondering how will this affect my timeline. 

 

The field office in LA has same processing times as the one in San Antonio. 

 

So I was wondering if I should do the address change to my new address in LA or change it to a friend s address here in Texas to keep the same field office. 

 

Also would it be possible to change address on their website, and ask to keep my case in the San Antonio FO? 

 

If not, how long do you think the move will delay my case ? I filed online, so I don't think there is any physical file transfer from one location to the other..I was wondering if  I will be at the end of the line in the new field office in LA. 

Any insights or advice is much appreciated...

Please help me update my status. I had my oath taking yesterday May 23. It was a very long wait bec the officer who interviewed me didn’t give a decision during the interview as she said “i need to wait for the system to update that I also approved your pending i751”. I don’t know why it took that long though. But I am thankful I AM NOW A US CITIZEN! I’m also thankful that I belonged to that batch bec the judge who presided the oath taking ceremony made it very special. She gave a very emotional (she was in tears!) and meaningful speech. :)

I am not a lawyer.  But it is my understanding that, independent of your N-400 process, as a permanent legal resident you are required to notify USCIS within 10 days of moving.

So would it really be a good idea to violate that rule and perhaps even demonstrate deception by using a fake address while you are waiting for the interview?  What if they discover during background check that you moved?  (are you going to get a CA drivers license?). What are you going to say if during the interview they ask you, under oath, to confirm that your current residence is the address of your friend?
