Im glad I’ve found this site, Id like to ask if you know any lawyer that could process a divorce under sharia court?thank you

The first thing the Philippines Consulate will want to know is if you were married under Sharia law? If you were not married under Sharia law then you can not get a divorce under Sharia law that the US Embassy in Manila will recognize per Philippines instruction.

Maayong gabii dhay. My asawa is from Davao and we have been to Cebu many times in the past and we love it there. But I don't know of any lawyers that can help you but I know someone like Hank or Greenbaum will come by later with more information lawyer wise for you.

yes,you are right @Chris Duffy  @Hank this is what they called a Talaq where the husband stated "he is divorcing his wife" 3 times is another form of divorce. From my end I am doing it under the category of Farsh or khula divorce, where the wife is the one petitioning the divorce due to the abandonment of my husband to our marriage.I have spoken to an Imam / Legal counsel here in cebu but havent really got  a precise steps to start the process like which office to go or if there is any person that I can communciate with from the Muslim court.I am also trying to do it DIY if possible because these people I spoke with actually gave me a heads up for a fee that might cost me 120-150php and that I am doing it all by myself since I do not have any form of communication to him.

The best place to start is of course a recommendation from someone who has gone before you. Not having the luxury of that personal contact leaves you stranded so to say. When my wife was looking for a lawyer she would go done to the local registrar in her community and ask who is the best at "such and such" and they could recommend someone. Rarely, does anyone recommend a lawyer who is incompetent especially since most their in the LR office don't like to clean up messes if you know what I mean.  Good luck.
