Applying for AP document

Hi, I have already applied for AoS and would like to travel back home for medical treatment.  However, in the instructions for the form I-131 on page 9, it states that a letter from a physician explaining the nature of my medical condition is needed.  I basically need to have my dentist fix an ailing tooth of mine that I do not want done in the U.S.  Do I really need to obtain all this information if I came here on a k-1 visa and applying for adjustment of status?  Also, if they deny the application, do I get my money refunded back to me?  thanks in advance.

You get EAD and AP free as part of the full vapplication to adjust, sounds like you need Emergency AP which you will need to document.

As stated, there's no need for any supporting documentation when you file for normal AP on the basis of having filed/filing for AoS.

Thanks.  One last dumb question:  The instructions say to include a copy of a document issued by USCIS showing present status in the U.S.  I thought this was the EAD card or notice of receipt of form i-485, but those are among the other requirements.  Which document are they asking for specifically?  Thanks.

Nothing else is required when you're filling under an I-485. The pending status of that form is what grants you eligibility for AP.

Ok thank you.  We are just nervous about not sending in enough since we had to send in more info late last year for evidence showing financial support for the I-485.
