Hello everyone! We have submitted all our documents to the NVC on October 25, according to FedEx, it was signed for and received on October 27, which is a bit over 5 weeks ago. Our online status says: 'At NVC'. I was wondering, has any of you tried to call NVC about the status of your case? (I am the Beneficiary, my husband always had to call the USCIS because I was not allowed to ask him any questions). I was on hold with them forever, and then they said: you are not the US citizen so we cannot answer your questions. So I kind of want to avoid that with the NVC :-) Thank you!

The beneficiary can call and get info as well

Thank you for your reply! Oh that's great! I felt like such an idiot when I was calling USCIS about our case and they said they could not answer my questions because I was the beneficiary :-( glad to hear the NVC is different.

Okay, thanks for the response. what info did you receive in that physical mail? Like checklist or Just provided you with Invoice number and such.

yes it was an invoice number to proceed with DS261 which is to choose agent and pay the first fee

soon after I had to pay the second fee, gathered the rest of the documents and filed DS 260 online and thats it for me... I have been waiting for 6 weeks now

De acuerdo, gracias por la respuesta. ¿Qué información recibió en ese correo físico? Al igual que la lista de verificación o simplemente le proporcionó el número de factura y tal.

In my case, I called 2 and a half weeks after my case was in NVC and they gave me my case and invoice number. Like wise two days later they sent me a letter from NVC that contained the new case number and the of invoice ID, also the document cover sheet and the instructions step by step that must be followed, a paper how to contact them, etc ...

Another thing, NVC does not notify you by email, if they are going to notify you something they send a letter to your address, or in the same way if you need to know something the best way to know is to call them!

Thanks, can you go ahead and send the documents prior to paying both the fee? Or one has to wait until the fees are paid before sending out the documentation.  Did you receive the checklist in the first mail you received from NVC?

You're welcome!

You can send it, but they will not check it until you have paid the fees and sent the DS-260. I haven't received anything yet, I'm waiting and I pray for haven't a checklist! :)

I'm in tears... we finally got a CC this evening!!! exactly today marks 11 weeks since scan date sept 19th and after being put under more stress for a new scan date that shouldnt be, Our case states "at NVC" and my AOS is disappeared! Thank you God.

1st scan date: 7/24/17

checklist received for missing birth certificate, sent again on 9/13/17

2nd scan date 9/19/2017

asked for supervisor review on 11/13/2017 to double check a new scan date of nov 1st (which he had not submitted anymore docs since sept 19) told to wait 6 weeks

CC: 12/5/2017 sometime between 12-5pm.

I'm going to call after work to double check and make sure our case is indeed closed and keep you guys posted.

:crying: happy tears :)

Oh also i asked the lady if i had to send everything all over again and she said to only send the Birth certificate not the entire packet. Any advice on that?

Yes only send the birth certificate! I had to just send my contract between me and my financial sponsor and rapidvisa was saying to resend the whole packet! I just sent my contract and I was approved
