Yes It's not fixed, it ranges from 5 - 9 weeks. If you are lucky you get 5-6 weeks but it's 8-9 weeks average without checklist.

Hi,

I have 2 questions:

1. would it be better to hole punch the documents and add them in a folder, so that they can easily take them out for scanning and put it back.

I think this would prevent lost docs but also there would be holes in the docs. So not sure.

2. Do you write really on each document your case number? For me this would destroy the validity of the document submitted

as you overwrite part of it. I would assume putting the case number on the back of the document copy would be the better version.

If they lose it they can still see the case number on the back. Any suggestion here?

3. Has someone "side loaded" at NVC with new relationship documents (boarding passes, new photos)? I plan to do so,

but don`t know if this part should come on the end of the package or on the top.

Same question about the side loading anyone?

and what you mean by the validity of the documents ?

1. No do not punch hole the documents.

2. A lot of people have done this and it works for them. I personally did not, I used paper clips to put each section of my documents together and large paper clip to keep them all together. You can also use a sticky label to write your name if you don't want to write directly on the documents.

3. "side loaded" documents goes under "other supporting documents" which is the last section of the document sheet thus, at the end of the package not on the top.

Goodluck :)

Documents are documents. You are not supposed to alter them by writing on them. In Germany, a document with a number on it added by you would be returned as fraud.

Thanks. My I-130 package was done by a lawyer and was about 200 pages. He punch holed all of them and we send it in a folder. Not sure if NVC is different in this aspect?

That might be the case in Germany. But here, you can write the case number on the top corner of each page and there should be no problem. After all, you are putting the number on a photocopy and not the original. Originals are to be brought with the beneficiary to the interview and there should be no alteration on them. Good luck

I had a stamp made with my case number at office max for about $15 and stamped all the papers at the top. It was worth it for me not to have to write on that much paper.

I also side loaded and I put it all at the very end of the package.

Well, just as you are skeptical about documents validity, i will be skeptical about punch holing my documents too. checklist is the last thing you want after waiting patiently for weeks for your case to be completed.

I ordered a stamp with my case number on, and stamped every document in the upper right corner.

I have the same SD and hoping to get that news by miracle this week, though I know it is more likely to happen next week. Someone here with the same SD was already under review last week, which means we are getting close
