Apparently we celebrated prematurely. We called back as instructed and this time got a woman who didn't seem to know what was going on, who transferred us to a supervisor. Even though in NZ the police report is sent directly to the embassy (not to me) the embassy forward it on to NVC. That's what the date change was to 11/30, our second SD. Except no-one in the last 2 weeks told us that, and both people we spoke to assured us that our case would be definitely complete in 1-2 weeks. The supervisor tonight confirmed that our 11 week wait started again 11/30 and that with Xmas and New year we shouldn't aim to hear anything for 7-8 weeks. I'm absolutely heartbroken. I don't know how to deal with this any more.

1st SD: 10/18
Checklist: 11/28
2nd SD: 11/30

CC to come :(

As of now NVC is moving pretty fast. I am seeing an avg of 5-6 weeks for a CC.

That's true, but when you account for being on lower staff numbers over the Xmas and New Year period I think it's reasonable to expect things will slow a little bit, like they did briefly the week of Thansgiving.

I paid my AOS fee last week , and it shows in progress.

Now my IV fee also opened up. And I paid it. and it shows in progress.

I thought IV fee only opens up once AOS fee is paid and processed?

has anyone experienced this?

thanks.

I really wouldn’t worry about it. You got to pay both fees and one step closer in this stage.

Thanks a lot for your information, we received approval letter in mail box stating it was approved on December 1st and have been sent to NVC but out case status on uscis still show case received on May 18th.

The notice says it was approved and will be sent to the NVC. But that does NOT mean it was physically sent to the NVC on that date. For example, mine was approved on the 16th and got my approval note that the petition will be sent to NVC. However, USCIS online case status was updated that they sent the petition to the Department of state on the 30rd, and NVC received it on the 7th.

I don't quite think one should go by the online case status because it's not 💯% accurate.

for instance I've been approved since 1st dec and till date my online status hasn't even changed.

it is not accurate and sometimes it does update and sometimes it does not. I was explaining to you that the fact it got approved does not mean it was immediately sent out to NVC. You can call USCIS for a tier 2 officer and hopefully they can tell u if it was physically sent out or not yet. otherwise, You can call NVC and see if they received it.

Did you ask consulate forward NZ police certificate to NVC when you sumitted your documents?. We are from NZ as well and we just got case completed yesterday. My SD is 8 Nov 17. I hope that you will get CC soon.

Are you able to know about the question above? 😥

I feel it is just a glitch. However, you can confirm by calling USCIS number then press 122 this will take you to speak with a rep. Explain the situation then request to talk to a tier 2 officer who can look at your case and give you definite answer.

Good luck
