Hello guys, My DS-261 was submitted on 6th of Dec 2017 .. Then received a mail stating to wait 2 weeks for processing before getting an invoice for payment .

I expected this stage to be faster ..

Try calling them, I called (I believe) the next day after submitting the DS- 261- I wanted to ask a question about which documents needed put together, the guy was suuuuuper nice and updated the case right there on the phone and then answered my question; he then said I would receive an invoice in about a week or less, which I did! If you have not already, its worth a try!

Hello everyone,

After we received approval from USCIS for the petition for a spouse, who will NVC send the package to? The petition or the beneficiary? WHo should be on the lookout for the package of next step?

You should receive a notice online from USCIS that your petition has been sent to NVC (takes from two days to a month. Once sent to NVC and they receive it, it takes them from a week to 2 weeks to assign a case number. You can always call NVC and see if a case number was assigned to your petition. You can use this case number and IIN (both are given to u upon request once a case number is assigned), you can log online using that information to choose who should communicate with NVC through email/mail. I can be the petitioner, the beneficiary, or both.

Hope that helps.

Good day all, my first time of posting here, uscis approved us on 1st of December and our case has been sent to NVC, how long do I need to wait before calling NVC to see if they have received our petition?

Hello people, first of all, congrats to everyone getting a cc. Am still waiting for NVC to confirm they received my petition. On 6th Dec application status changed to case sent to DOS. Then today I noticed that it changed again to request for evidence received as it had been before the approval. Should We be worried about this?

OKAY so we have an update!

We got a checklist on 11/28 because we were missing a police report that wasn't actually missing at all. The NVC employee told us to call back in a week to check that the case had been put in line for a supervisor to review it again. We called back tonight and ANOTHER ISSUE. When the file was updated on 11/30 the date in the system was changed, so it looked like we sent in our original pack of documents on 11/30, starting the 11 week process again. The guy at NVC this time was so helpful, tried to find a supervisor but couldn't, and told us that he would make it a priority. His words were 'This is considered a case complete and as soon as the supervisor flags the case you will be in the queue for an interview, call back in another week to make sure that has all gone through' so I'm taking it! :D

SD 10/18

CC 12/5

Hopefully we can get through ONE part of this process with no delays, my husbands visa here expires in Feb so we are pushing it a little bit

Apparently we celebrated prematurely. We called back as instructed and this time got a woman who didn't seem to know what was going on, who transferred us to a supervisor. Even though in NZ the police report is sent directly to the embassy (not to me) the embassy forward it on to NVC. That's what the date change was to 11/30, our second SD. Except no-one in the last 2 weeks told us that, and both people we spoke to assured us that our case would be definitely complete in 1-2 weeks. The supervisor tonight confirmed that our 11 week wait started again 11/30 and that with Xmas and New year we shouldn't aim to hear anything for 7-8 weeks. I'm absolutely heartbroken. I don't know how to deal with this any more.

1st SD: 10/18
Checklist: 11/28
2nd SD: 11/30

CC to come :(
