Hello everyone and thanks for the ton of info that you guys provide.

I sent my package to nvc on 10/17. And they said that it was received on 10/19

I called again today and they gave me the usual answer of within 11 weeks.

I asked if there was any problem for filing the DS260 on 10/20 and they said that it was ok.  Problem is that i never received any mail or email for that so called scan date.  Im kind of nervous now.

When I check the status online it still says to submit package I have 3 cases by the way for my wife and 2 step kids.

Your SD is 10/19( The day they enter your documents as received in their system). They don't send email or mail for SD or CC. You have to call them. Normally When you see your status changed from "Required to submit Documents" to "AT NVC", your case is  completed (CC) then.

NVC recieved my case from USCIS on 11/30.   When should I call to get the  NVC case number?

2 weeks from the data of NVC receives your I-130 package from USCIS is when they say they have the invoice number ready for you.  They will also send you a physical mail with this information if you dont want to call them to find out.

I'm in tears... we finally got a CC this evening!!! exactly today marks 11 weeks since scan date sept 19th and after being put under more stress for a new scan date that shouldnt be, Our case states "at NVC" and my AOS is disappeared! Thank you God.

1st scan date: 7/24/17

checklist received for missing birth certificate, sent again on 9/13/17

2nd scan date 9/19/2017

asked for supervisor review on 11/13/2017 to double check a new scan date of nov 1st (which he had not submitted anymore docs since sept 19) told to wait 6 weeks

CC: 12/5/2017 sometime between 12-5pm.

I'm going to call after work to double check and make sure our case is indeed closed and keep you guys posted.

:crying: happy tears :)

I called late last night to confirm that indeed we did have a CC and yes it is CC. The rep said that they don't have a timeframe from CC to interview appointment but she said that they will notify us of appointment at least a month in advance so now all is left is to prep and wait for that appointment. Good luck to everyone else waiting on a CC and hopefully you start off the new year with a CC!!

SOS!

I have been posting in the April 2017 Texas thread, but I feel like now at the NVC stage I should move here.

Anyways here are my details:

NOA2 from Texas: October 16, 2017

NVC Received: November 27, 2017

NVC assigned case number and IIN: December 5th

so after getting my Case number and IIN on the phone, I was able to log in and fill out the DS 261.

I assigned myself (the petitioner) as the agent and then called to confirm they received it and all was well for them to review. (I am following the London checklist PDF that has been circulating on VJ) I had one pretty rude guy and then yet another that said the same thing.

They both said that I cant fill out the DS 261 (choice of agent) until I receive instructions in the mail, I told them that I was actually able to fill it out and their response was that now I probably delayed my case!!! Does anyone have any bit of insight? I didn't think I was doing anything wrong! I could have sworn other people had done the same after receiving their case number & IIN.

Ive attached the PDF I am referring to.

thank you all in advance! <3

Hello all,

This question is for people apply in India, or i guess other countries where this process might have changed.

I have a quick question, I just heard that for new people applying the Green Card will be given to them before they come to the US for the first time. Is this true? It used to be that a person would come to the US and about 3-4 weeks later, the green card would come in the mail.

If someone has had experience with this, can you please provide some context and the change in the process?
