Where is my green card?

Hi there,

 

I filed for AOS off of a K1 Visa on December 20th, 2016, and I still have not received a single word about my RFE for the medical part of the AOS package. I remember back in July I was telling people that I would have my green card by the end of August or early September at the latest. After watching cases in Chicago be approved within 6 or 7 months, I was super confident that I was going to be joining them in that same time frame. Especially when I'm coming from Canada and literally 8 hours from my old home in Canada. I really don't get what's going on at all. I've been calling USCIS and they keep saying that Chicago is "delayed" and that "your case is definitely outside the suggested time frame". The last time I called USCIS 2 weeks ago, the lady I talked to sent in a service request but I haven't received anything back yet. I hate sitting here Mondays to Fridays waiting for the mail to come and never finding anything for me. 

 

Does anybody have any idea what could be going on?

Welcome to my world. Had my Interview July 25th.. co could not find my medical records so delaying approval. I have involved congress,6 service request,6infopass and nothing. I was there yesterday  and I was told Baltimore is not approving green cards at the moment. AOS filled December 9th 2016. At this point I am just shocked because one will think the system in America is perfect. At least give me a reason or a timeline. We paid so much  for this .

Based on the currently posted USCIS processing times for Chicago IL field office, as of Sept 30 2017 they were processing applications as of Dec 21 2016. Your timeline indicates Dec 20 2016 as your filing date. If so, you are outside their posted processing times (by one day, but that should be good enough!).

 

You could get your congressperson or senator to file a service request on your behalf, which would probably be more effective.

We finally received our approval on 12/8!
