Hello every one.                                                          I filed(I-130)  for my adopted nephew on  nov2017.when I filed I made a mistake on the form which askes “ARE YOU RELATED BY ADOPTION ?” And I filled NO.i just saw it know and I don’t know what I can do .any one has any idea please !?

    Did you provide the adoption papers  in the package ?   How old is your nephew and are his parents alive ( you may not be able to bring him here  even if you did adopt him )

-his parents are Not alive

-he is 19 years old

*yes I provide his birth certificate(which is changed when I adopted him)and all things that is required  for the i-130 (adoption papers ,photos which explains I have been with him more than two years and other papers )

adoption must be complete before age 16 for qualify us immigration visa.  19 is too old and will not qualify for visa.

At the time of adoption he was 8years old so it doesn’t matter.

Yes they are but I don’t know how to prove that

There are various other requirement to meet to bring an adopted child, custody usually being the biggie.

I fill the custdoy action (adoption approval action of the court )

Ya there is but where do I fill that ?(at the time of interview or...)I didn’t fill that when I fill I-130 in uscis

    https://www.uscis.gov/adoption/immigration-through-adoption    That list the requirements for adoption for immigration in various countries.  Unless you meet the requirements for the country you will not be getting a visa.  The may include pre screening by adoption officials here,  2 years of custody of the child to be adopted.  It varies  .   If you don't do it right your child will be stuck where ever.
