Processing time I-90 at the Dallas service center?

My wife applied for her green card renewal (biometrics, fingerprints...)  in June at the Dallas service center.  Her card expires at the end of November. They placed an extension sticker on the back of her old card until June 2018. Her question is: Is she alone in this type of extension process? She says that in the forums she reads no one else as had this occur at the Dallas office and everyone has gotten their green cards within three months. Here it is the end of November and still no green card. She only hopes that the extension sticker will keep her legal till her new green card arrives. I've tried to check on the time line questions and haven't come across anything.
