My PD is October 20, my RFE was received 27 days ago and no reply yet. All they asked for was for my birth certifcate I don't understand why it's taking so long just to review one document. Other people were approved within 15 days, but not mine.

Call them and try to talk to a Tier 2 Officer.

If you cant get a Tier 2 Officer, call the same number again, and ask for a supervisor, and explain your situation. The Supervisor most likely will send an inquiry to Tier 2.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!

Hi Are there any October 20th filers at Nabraksa Service Center that have received their case number to pay fees and RFE from NVC as yet?

My PD is October 20th

On April 27th Notice of approval of 1-130 submitted by USCIS

Called NVC 29th May. They confirmed they received the case but didn't have a  case number assigned.

Still waiting and feel like it shouldn't take this long to assign a case number if they already have the petition from USCIS.

Can anyone guide me on timelines? Would really like to understand how long it will take before I get to submit my documents to NVC.

Hi! Ours was Oct. 6. And got approved on May 2nd. NVC received our case on May 7. We called them few days ago and they said it will take not longer than July 6. Others said it usually takes 8-10 weeks from the date NVC received the case. Hope this helps :) Good luck!

Can somebody explain what a pivot / non pivot case is?

Pivot: submitting all your documents online/ electronically to nvc

Non-pivot: submitting hard copy of all your documents old traditional way/ via mail.

I believe, It takes a bit longer to assign a case number to pivot case but once you have a case number, the process for pivot cases is faster than a non pivot.
