A quesrion what is tier 1 and tier 2?  I need to ask for tier 2 when I call NVC? Thanks and I am sorry if the question is silly

Tier 2 representatives are like the senior supervisors who have access to your case and can look upon in detail as to whats going on with it. So when you call uscis ask them to transfer your call to tier2 as u want to find more information about your case and then ask them in detail ..

So I just received an email this morning stating this and I was wondering has anyone else ever received this message before their case was approved? Is this normal? And I know it’s a good sign regardless but I am a little worried. oh I filed on October 02nd and my case was sent to TSC.

Tier 2 told me my application is with an officer and not to call until after 9 months has passed.

Does it take that long for an officer to approve or deny an application?

Oct 3rd Potomac here. Probably a left over from October as most have been approved.

FYI...Case was transferred over to NVC today. Received email notification, text and the OLD site has been updated (the new one still says case approved) and got notifications from the App as well. So that means app is pulling data from the old site. which in turn means that is not very reliable just like the old site is not reliable. Something to keep in mind for folks who are still waiting. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Seeing people after your PD approved is so nerve wracking. I thought it was first come, first serve? I know some cases are less complicated than others, but I have a very simple case too so I don't know.

I have a NOA1 just before yours and haven't heard back yet, and my case is very simple. So you're not alone. It seems highly likely that we will hear in the next couple of weeks even though it is frustrating not to be in the wave of people who got earlier acceptances. I assume different cases are assigned to different agents and they don't all work at the same pace, and that probably explains why it's not exactly first come first serve. Sometimes people from Potomac have been hearing after 6 months, but most seem to hear back within 7 months if they don't have an rfe. Hanging in there!
