Hey guys,

I need your help. My case status online still says case was approved, but the letter I received in the mail says, "the above petition has been approved. As the petitioner requests, we have sent the petition to the U.S Department of State." So, that means my case was sent to the Department of the State already correct? I don't have to worry that my case still in USCIS and not been sent to the Department of the State correct?

That's what mine says. Once approved, it goes to NVC for further processing. Just wait for NVC to send you a letter where they'll give you the case number and further instructions on what to do next. This usually can take from 4-6 weeks.

Thank you so much for your response! But, could you please explain to me what did they mean by my case was sent to the department of the state? Did they mean that my case was already was sent to the Department of the State not in USCIS anymore? Because my case status online still shows that my case was approved and the cases numbers before and after mine were updated to sent to the Department of the State.

It just means your case was sent to NVC  (national Visa Center) it is no longer with USCIS. Now NVC will be in charge of everything. You'll be sending the documents they ask for as well as checking your case status at their website once you receive a case number from them.

Thank you so much for helping me and making me feel better! So I should count 4-6 weeks from the day i received this mail correct? I am so sorry for asking many questions.

No you're fine😊 I think it started from the day they approved your petition. Mine was approved couple of days before yours. I'll let you know when I receive a letter from NVC so you can guess how long it will take you.
