Hello everyone,

I am a Nigerian studying in Germany, i am in my last semester of my masters degree. I just completed left the U.S as an exchange scholar on J1 visa a day before my grace period expires. I want to apply for another visa to attend a conference and also  visit family and friends in the U.S. I will like to to how soon i can apply after my J1? what category of Visa is best for my situation and what are my chances.

There is no time frame. I applied for a B2 visa while I was still in J1. Since you finished your program I would suggest you have home ties like a job etc.

I will  still be a graduate student  during my next application. And i am applying from Germany. Thats where i studied but i am a nigerian. my conference is coming up in June, i intend to apply in April....i hope i am good to go?
