We aren't bothered by a Christmas or Holiday Card...

We are bothered by the fact that other people think this is a big deal and think that "Christmas is back" when it didn't go anyway except off of a silly card.

Also - You can backpeddle as much as you want but the fact remains, since you can't edit it, that the title of the thread DOES NOT match the content in your post. "Bringing Merry Christmas back to the White House" is not the same thing as bringing it back onto a Holiday Card. The White House is a physical building. Christmas was always there.

Ya I don't think you know what "upset" means I guess...

The people who are upset are those who loved that Trump said he would "Bring back Christmas" as if it was stolen from them. Those of us who celebrate Christmas but didn't mind the holiday card, still don't mind the Christmas card. It's just a freakin card. At the end of the day the President has always been a Christian and has always celebrated Christmas. We realize, rightly so, that Christmas was never under threat and was never going anywhere. It will continue to never go anywhere.

It was a war being fought by only one side. So you can all pat yourselves on the back for your "victory"...We never really cared.

You still don't get that thread titles have to match the article?  Take it up with the Daily Mail for creating an article with a confusing title.  Either way, the title of the thread is not the only deciding factor on what can be talked about in the thread.  If it was reversed, you would be arguing the exact opposite and you know it.  Read the first paragraph for crying out loud.  Then tell me that the Christmas card isn't the topic of the article or are you going to say that the first few paragraphs of an article don't set the topic?

Absolutely, I'll take the win.  In your progressive world, Christmas might not have been under attack, even though it was and you are simply refusing to admit it because it goes against liberal talking points.  For those of us on the other side, it was certainly under attack or perceived to be under attack, take your pick.  Either way, Christmas is back on the Christmas card.

No worries.  You can still listen to him on his radio show.  He'll probably have Matt Lauer as a guest this week.

I think you mean "thread titles don't have to match the article"

You're right they don't have to. When they don't match though, they are incorrectly written. Or at the very least poorly written. The title you choose for your thread doesn't have to be a direct quote from an article, so if the article has a poorly written thread title you can fix it. You didn't.

Christmas was never going anywhere, and it was never "under attack". I still celebrate Christmas every year, and have done so just fine for the past 8+ years. New York City is still covered in Christmas lights every year, and Christmas trees. Every other city I've lived in has always had "Christmas tree lighting" ceremonies. Christmas was never under threat by the decorations on Coffee cups, or by the content of a Holiday Card.

It really is a great example of how, despite their claims, people on the right are really the ultimate snowflakes. They get worried and freaked out that their massive majority holiday is somehow "under threat" based on absolutely nothing but some coffee cups and holiday cards. Oh the humanity. The cards and cups are going to sneak into your house and burn your Christmas tree! Run quick!

No bcking, thread titles MUST match the thread article title.  A mod clearly stated this in an article I posted about Roy Moore.  She said it is in the TOS.  For someone who claims to be smarter than everyone else on here, you sure are having a hard time reading tonight.

When you start saying things like "majority holiday", you out yourself and your true thoughts.

I've posted many threads with articles in them and I never match the article title. I don't recall ever having someone say anything about it.

Apologies for the misunderstanding if that is the case. I truly didn't realize that is what you were claiming, mostly because it just seems like a really stupid thing to be in the TOS on a forum so I wouldn't naturally think it was a rule.

As for your second point - What is wrong with stating it is the majority holiday in the USA? Most Americans celebrate Christmas during this time of year, not all do. Some celebrate nothing this time of you, some Chanukah, and then a variety of other holidays. But ultimately Christmas is the majority.

What exactly did I out myself for by saying that? What are my "true thoughts", do please tell because ironically I'm curious?

My thread title was changed by a mod.  So if it isn't a rule, then the mod made a mistake in changing it and then posting in the thread that thread titles must match the title of the article being posted.  Take it up with her.

Your attempt to ridicule is childish.

Jayjay I try to be as honest on here as possible. I conceded that I was wrong about the thread title and apologized for it.

I am honestly curious what you think I was implying? I'm not trying to call you out on anything, I am just asking the question.

I only meant that Christmas is the holiday celebrated by the majority of Americans during this season. It has always been that way, and will likely always be that way. I said it that way because I find it hard to think that a Holiday that is so extensive in our country was ever "under threat". Every department store, every grocery store, every Target all have Christmas all over them. They will typically have a shelf or two with Chanukah items, but the rest is all clearly Christmas-themed. That isn't surprising, again, because it's the "majority holiday" for Americans.

Christmas has become incredibly commercial and it is quite literally "massive", at least everywhere I've loved (Houston, NYC, San Diego, Portland). Christmas Trees everywhere, Christmas lights everywhere, huge sales all for "Christmas" (not "Holidays"). Some vendors may have chosen to go the "Happy Holiday" route, but Christmas is still overwhelmingly the major driving force during this season. It has absolutely no threat. It's like saying an Elephant is "under threat" from a Mouse.
