Hi, just wondering if anyone has recently asked for a change in their AOS interview appointment? Can you just go to your local USCIS site where the interview is scheduled and ask them face to face if they can accommodate a different date, or do you have to call the number in the confirmation letter they sent and reschedule it that way? The reason we may have to reschedule is that our appointment date is set for December 5th 2017 but my wife is scheduled for a Cesarean Section birth of our child on the 6th of December at 0730 am! We are becoming concerned that she may not make to this day because she has had increasingly more contractions and elevated blood pressure numbers. Anyways, just wondering if anyone has some concrete advice on what we should do, I really just want to keep it as it is...but our baby might have other plans!

Work with your congressman or senator's immigration liaison on liaison on this. They have direct line of communication with the USCIS and can reschedule this for you with confirmation vs. waiting for USCIS to potentially deny you for no show even though you asked for reschedule.

Umm be proactive - move it to a month or so later so at least your wife recovers somewhat from childbirth. You don't want to be rescheduling when she is in labor.

We will just try and keep the one we have, the soonest info pass is December 10th, I should have rescheduled right away once I got the notice....but I didn't so we will cross fingers and try for the 5th. She is doing fine for now so I think it's ok.

Well we made it to the interview without any problems except for a couple sleepless nights from wife being so uncomfortable at 9 months pregnant. Our interview is complete now, she said everything looks good but we won't know the outcome until they review it. Anyways, hurry up and wait some more. Oh well at least we have that hurdle done now.
