Hi!

Question, so I am a college student working part time, I know I don't make the requirements for support but my grandfather said he would cosponsor, he makes way past the amount for a three person home. Which is fantastic! Here'D the thing, do I need to fill out the paperwork too or just him for the affidavit of support? Do I have to prove I am in college which is why I don't work full time?

Thank you!

For my understanding and what I have read cause I need to do the same get a co sponsor, the only person who needs to do the affidavit, for now, is your grandfather, and then later on whe you do the adjustment of status it needs to be done by your grandfather as you and there are two different types of affidavits, firts oaffidavit  you need is the 1-134 and needs to be done for you grandfather and then for the adjustment of status when she is the  us,  your grandfather and you need both the I-864

Again I'm still not sure but this is what I've reading since I file and sent my petition.

@Carolina Dalton thank you! Yeah he and I didn't know what to do or what to fill out. We didn't want to go to lawyers bc it's expensive to just have them tell us what to do when we can ask people who have been through it!  My fiance, well he has been nervous about what' next, told me to start asking questions on here. I'm glad I did! We just go an email with the NOA1 just waiting on the hard copy before we check the status stuff! So excited but definitely not patient haha.

Lol I know I start making the affidavits too because my mom would be the cosponsor, so I'm in the same situation lol  I don't know what to believe but in any case I didn't figure out, we can just do the affidavit and send them to our fiancees because what if they really need our affidavits as well, so it's better to do it than don't, and we have a lot of time like 6 months or more :(

Hi

Carolina is right :)

i134 from you and your grandfather,  Don't forget that same goes for the evidence needed for it. If you're a student and there's no income at all then you may need to explain it in a separate paper (please search the forum about this because I heard it once but couldn't find the post to show you)

for the AOS affidavit of support, you will do the same, 1 from each sponsor with the evidences.

You don't need a lawyer for this type of questions, don't waste money there. People usually use lawyers to file the petition itself.
