I traveled last November with passport maiden name, GC married name. Book tickets in maiden name as it has to match the passport exactly. Take the marriage certificate to show the link to the new married/GC name.

The only person who asked me about the difference in name was the flight pre-check attendent on the way back to the states. I showed her the marriage certificate and it was fine. No issues going through CBP.

I have traveled in and out of the United States at least 30 times since I became a permanent resident.

 

My passports had my maiden name and green card has my married name. I've never encountered any issue with CBP.

(I have updated my name through a deed poll, perhaps you can do that as well. some countries put an amendment on your passport saying your are also known as)

 

CBP is well aware of the issue. Your green card is the only document you need for entry.

 

Why don't you apply for Global Entry?  this is an expedited entry and you don't even have to present your passport, scan your green card and fingers and you are ready to go.

I have travelled with different name in my passport to what's on my green card.  CBP at Charlotte never said a word.   I did have my marriage certificate with me in case but didn't need it.
