How Long to Receive Passport After Interview (Montreal)

Anyone who recently had their interview at Montreal, how long does it take to get the passport back via courier service following the interview?

Our interview is Dec. 18.  I'm sure the holidays will delay the return at least somewhat.

There's some old threads on this but wondering from those with more recent experience.

I interviewed and got approved October 11th and I had my passport and visa in hand the following Monday. :) That seems to be the case normally these days. Hopefully it continues that way so you do too. :D

What type of visa are you applying for?

I was approved for an IR1 visa and got my passport back three business days after sending my travel information. But that pilot project (where you have to send the travel info via email before getting your passport back) seems to only be for some visas, so your process may be different.

Either way, it sounds like a lot of people these days are getting their visas within one week.

Do you know if they are doing this for CR1's still?  Seems like a chicken-and-egg situation to me

I'm not sure if they are doing it for CR1s or not. If they are, note that you have to email them your confirmed travel plans before they will send your visa. But like I said, after I sent the information, I got my visa back quickly.

AP is causing your delay

We had interview on 12/18 and will be getting passport on 12/27. Already shipped.

Well there is no delay for now, my interview was 2 days ago only lol

Spa, what was your status before "Issued"? It never said AP for you?

My interview was really smooth, 3 questions only, didnt even take a minute. Agent said it was aproved, should receive my passport back in 1 week max.

I read on the forum that sometime AP just means printing the visa and sending it out for delivery?

Most K1 get AP after interview as thats when your background check is done.  CR1/IR1 have that done at the NVC.  K1 historically have taken a few days to several weeks in AP following a sucessful interivew.  If you were born on another country you may need more forms.
