Sent ours off on FedEx on the 11th and it was received on the 14th at which time I received both text & email.  The hard copy arrived a few days later.  Sent our 129F packet to the lockbox in Texas.   I felt that part was fairly quick, the wait began on the 14th for us.

Hi VJ members!

Just a quick question, my fiance(petitioner) in the US has sent our packet to the Texas lockbox but no acknowledgment from their part yet (texts or mail). How long is the usual waiting time?   Thanks in advance!

Hi! According to this flowchart: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow  it takes 2-3 weeks.  We received ours in less than 1 week though.

You are correct.  The lockbox does not have a signatory so if Fedex allows the address, they may not be able to deliver it.  Same with certified mail.  Since the lock box is basically a PO Box you need to use the street address.  We used USPS and mailed on June 1 and got the received email and text on June 6.  I had another friend here who waited a month for the NOA1.  Same situation.  They used a money order and couldn't track it.  Next time just use a personal check so you know when it is cashed!!!  WAIT...  Let's not have a next time!

Yes and no  The PO Box is for when USPS is used for delivery.  When you use FedEx and UPS it gets delivered directly to the USCIS office building.  So another big point for not using USPS.   Also their are Money Orders and Cashiers Checks which you can track, Western Union to name one.  But you have to know what you are buying before you do it.

Someone here said they used Western Union but there is a fee if you want to track the check prior to 30 days.  I'm not sure if that is true or not but that is what they said.  They didn't want to pay the fee to see if the check was cashed.  They did get their NOA1 but it took over a month!

Thanks so much for all the info and pieces of advice! It gives us comfort that we are not alone :D We checked the USPS tracking number, and the USCIS (Texas Lockbox) received it on 20 November 2017. Technically that's like 7 working days ago, but we are still waiting for the text!

5 days to 3 weeks (it really depends)

Did they cash the check?

It’s taking longer and longer these days at USCIS. Did you fill out the texting or emailing notification form? That was how we heard back from USCIS super fast before getting hard copy in the mail. Our NOA1 took weeks to get in the mail but a text message saying they received it with the WAC number was only a couple of days out. Same with NOA2.

Omg don’t ever trust USPS for this process. Use FedEX or DHL. USPS sucks! They lose everything, and when it’s not lost it takes a million years and a day to get them, and their customer service sucks because you’re always on hold for so many hours and nothing gets resolved or calls get dropped. Don’t ever use USPS for anything in your life specially this.

An update guys!

The NOA1 came in the mail today 1 December 2017! Hoorayyy! and so the waiting begins and gathering of documents that will be needed for NOA2.
