A woman approached The Post with dramatic — and false — tale about Roy Moore. She appears to be part of undercover sting operation.

I think the question is why is WaPo bringing it out now?

Why are they making the failed sting operation public?

Because obviously Veritas was never going to publicize the fact that the WaPo thoroughly investigated their "spy", learned of inconsistencies and decided not to publish her story.

Their attempted sting showed the opposite of what they wanted it to, and so they would prefer to slide it under the rug. They are displaying the epitome of bias and hypocrisy with their behavior. Here is their mission statement:

Investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions in order to achieve a more ethical and transparent society.

If they want to expose dishonesty they need to only look at themselves. If they want a more transparent society, they can start from within.

If this sting aimed to discredit the Post's story about Roy Moore, it had the opposite effect.

Absolutely, which is why Project Veritas had no desire to publish it...despite their claim that they believe in a "more ethical and transparent society"...

Transparent only when it suits them.

Conscious reporting bias is unethical. You can't conveniently ignore the results that you don't like.

I think you missed the point of the exercise.  They were trying to sting WaPo, not Moore.

You misunderstood what I said.

IDWAF said something about the left ruining a man's career, I didn't see how that was relevant to the WaPo exposing project veritas little stunt. I don't know how it can be blamed on the left. Poor plan, poor execution, now they look like fools. They put themselves in that hole alone. No big deal they'll recover.

That's not the point of the article. Wether you like it or not WaPo displayed good journalism and PV took a loosy short cut. It is now a documented fact.

Does that mean left wing media is never to be blamed? Hell no.

Like anything you've go good left wing media outlets and bad ones. Same apply to the conservative media outlets.

America is so far down in partisanship everyone has to make it about their "tribe".

Good journalism? Lets be offended anyways because they can't be good, they're liberal/conservative.

Sad!

What you said is fine, but let these good left wing outlets actually admit their bias.  Instead they like to say theuy are completely unbiased and giving us news or editorials based on an unbiased view.  This is utterly false which is why we need to keep calling them out for their biases.  WaPo did do good journalism in this case, but there are many other instances where others have done the same thing but they are marginalized as bias.

The most biased organization being discussed in this thread is Project Veritas, by far.

There is no doubt Project Veritas is biased, and I don’t think they claim otherwise, but when is WaPo or the NYTimes going to admit their biases?

They actually do claim otherwise. Go to their website and read their "mission statement". I copied it in a previously post.

They believe in honestly and transparency, and yet don't reflect that in their own practices because of their biases.
