She got her interview date for Dec 18th in Rio, now does she need to pay anything else after she gets approved? I paid all the fees so far but I'm not sure if they are going to charge her anything else after the interview. Just need to be sure she is prepared.

Also does she need to go back to Rio get her passport back?

Just another thing, she got an email confirmation for her interview but no letter so far, should I call NVC if they are going to send her a letter?

Thx for helping :)

After she gets approved she will need to pay $220 which is the fee green card fee. She can do that online at https://www.uscis.gov/file-online/uscis-immigrant-fee

At this point, she should have answered a form online, on the Embassy website,  where they asked your mom if she wants to pick up the visa at the consulate or if she wants her passport to be mailed to her address. I am sure the consulate officer will ask your mom what she prefers. In our case, my parents only received an email and not a letter. I contacted the consulate and they told me that the email would be sufficient. They went to their interview with the confirmation email printed and did not encountered any issues. Just tell your mom to make sure her name, date and time show on the email that she prints.  The interview is very straight forward and the officers at RDJ were extremely polite to my parents when they went to their interview.

Good luck to your mom and you!
