Hi folks. I'm married to a Brazilian woman for 5 years and we live in Brazil. I came to marry in 2012 and became a permanent resident. We want to move to live in US now and we don't know when we should fill the I-130 for my 19y/o step son.

Should his form and paperwork be sent together in the same envelope with my wife's?

Any help? Thank you👍

Hi, I am an American citizen and a PR in Brazil. I left US in 2012 to marry and live in Brazil. Now I want to return to US and take my wife and step son to live with me there.

Because you married before he was 18 the shortest path is for you to file an I130 at the same time as the mom . Remember it is 2 petitions , you need 2 copies of common docs . Think 2 complete petitions in smaller envelopes shoved into one big one.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
