need help and suggestions

my dad married a us citizen and we filed all of our papers but its been 5 months and we still didn’t get our biometrics appointment

wow 5 months?

I filed my i-485 i-765 and i-131 early Sept, received NOA1 close to a couple of weeks later, and heard none from them about biometrics until now. Online status still says that they just sent receipt notice. Nothing about appointment notice, and nothing in the mail.

I called them a couple of weeks ago and the guy said it should come in the mail within 30 days LOL

Yesterday I got approval notice for my EAD & AP in the mail (but online status hasnt changed at all).

So, no biometrics yet for me, it's been 2.5 mos, not sure if that's normal. Just thinking maybe Honolulu office is super busy, not sure if them not sending me appointment notice yet has anything to do with that.

In the meantime, looking forward to get my EAD/AP card in the mail soon.

That's interesting.  EAD/AP with no biometrics is fortunate.

You think so?

But does that mean it's going to take even longer for the AOS process? Or no?

I just thought the purpose of biometrics is for them doing background checks in order to proceed with the AOS application (or EAD/AP but appearantly not :D)

I got my biometrics appointment on Dec. 6. I filed Nov. 6. In the notice is says its for the AOS and EAD. AP doesnt need biometrics anymore. Youre lucky you got approved in EAD without biometrics. 😍 Congrats. 😊
