I wonder why they told you to file both in two different places. I filed all in Chicago.

Anyway, as per biometrics appt, I only had one, but I actually never received the work permit from them. I only received green card and because of this I didn't bother following up with the work permit.

What's weird is that my wife just had her biometrics done for EAD, and that didn't cost anything. Yet, there is a $70 fee for the AOS biometrics. I don't know if they will re-use the EAD biometrics or if she'll have to go in again... maybe to a different place.

For EAD bimoetrics they take print of only one index finger (right). It is not free but included in EAD application fee (180 dollars). For AOS biometrics you will need to give all 10 fingerprints and this is 70 dollar fee one.

Yes they could use AOS fingerprints for EAD too..only if they co-ordinated within the bureau.

I am now a US citizen.
