Hi,everyone!

I'm not sure if the topic like that exists,I will be happy if somebody can point it out to me.

My husband has lost his green card(which he obtained based on work visa),we are traveling overseas in a little bit over than 10 days. He already filed and got the case status for the new Green card, payed fees and we now are waiting for the biometrics letter, which ,according to USCIS website was already mailed to us. My concern, however,is that we wont' be able to get his new GC replacement within the next 10 days,

Does anyone know what can be done in the cases like that?I mean,I'm sure things like that happen and USCIS do have some alternative paper/proof of residency in case of emergency traveling. Where should we call or seek for help from ?What document can be obtaineed in cases like that .

We will be happy for any type of advice/help.

Thank you in advance.

I traveled with a friend abroad in the same situation.  He used what was in his passport, probably what the previous answers refer to.  Though he didn't get anything additional.  He went to ask for an expedited GC and he was told what was already in his passport was okay for POE entry. Though I would check what's there and verify it can be used.

You would need to make an Infopass appointment at your local office and ask for an I-551 passport stamp.

They will want to see the NoA from his I-90 before they would do this. It's unlikely you'd be able to get it within 10 days, however, so his travel may need to be delayed.

You need to show and prove he filed for the new g reencard and they will give him a stamp. Without this stamp he can not leave (well he can leave he just won't be allowed in)
