Hi and good day to everyone. Here's my story, on March of 2017 I finally got my wife from philippines her green card and now she's here in America since April of 2017. My question is what will be my 1st step on bringing my daughter here, I know the process is less work compare to my wife but I haven't started yet. I read I need to do the form fs-240 first but then what? Fyi I am an American citizen and no I haven't filed any of my daughter's paper yet. Any help or advice would be nice ty.

FS-240 is to register the birth of your child overseas as a USC. Is the child your child or your step-child?

If she's your step-child then you need to apply for a visa just like you did for your wife using the form I-130 and sending it to the lockbox.

If the child is your child and you meet the requirements to pass on citizenship then you don't need a visa for her as she is already a USC. She will need a passport and a plane ticket.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Thx for the reply and yes she is my biological daughter, ok so I will need the fs-240 and her passport . I'm guessing I won't be able to do that here in USA? Next question can I have the grandparents process her papers in philippines or does it have to be the parent/s?
