Vermont - why so much faster?

Hi VJers,

 

Does anyone know why the Vermont office for processing K1s is so much faster than Cali or Texas? I'm going through the Cali office currently taking 172 days to NOA2.

Different locations have different times. Doesn't really make a difference though if you're through one office. It's not like you can change it. Just be patient.

Besides that majority of K-1 Visas now only go through the Cali office. It is very rare to get transferred to another one. They started processing K-1's only through Cali earlier this year.

Vermont usually gets cases transferred if there is an additional security check especially for people with criminal background from what I understand.

 

ao you don't want to be there even though it shows an earlier date...

 

most likely a 99 % of cases of k-1 are in California as mentioned before.

The reason Vermont appears to be faster is because there have only been 3 NOA 2 at Vermont registered on VJ from 2017. 
There timelines are 87 days, 91 days and 361 days. I guess VJ is ignoring the 361 as an outlier, and averaging the other two timelines that are from earlier in the year, when the average from California was also shorter.

Since quite a while now K1s are handled by the California Service Center almost exclusively. Unless any of the very few cases listed as 'Vermont' are actually confirmed as Vermont cases by those users, and not selected as such either by misunderstanding or in error - Vermont and Texas wait times are of no bearing to K1 cases.
