Paying AOS Fee Question

Hello,

I got an email from the NVC to start my process with them.  I logged on and started to pay the first fee (I believe the AOS).  I had to fill out some fields for my info and one was named "BUSINESS NAME."  Do you think by "BUSINESS NAME" they mean the name of the bank?  I proceeded and put my banks name (JP Morgan Chase) and then my routing and account number.  I tried to google it to see if thats what the business name cell was for, but I was in a hurry so I went ahead and submitted it.

It shows it's IN PROCESS now, but shows the Payer as JP Morgan Chase (My name).  So it shows the bank's name as the payer, then my name in parenthesis.  For anyone who recently paid this fee, did you put the bank's name under the "BUSINESS NAME" cell or that was a mistake I did?

Thank you

A literal interpretation of "business name" on such a form would not mean the name of the bank.

Now that i think about, I think that field was for companies sponsoring immigrants.  I totally messed up and it's my fault.  I will call the NVC tomorrow and see if they can help me.  I mean i put JP Morgan Chase so anyone reviewing it will easily tell i thought they wanted the banks name

Don't expect human interaction with your online payment anytime soon.  If it were me, I would just go in and do it again correctly if you can. If not, yes, talk to a human there about what to do.

I can't cancel the payment and it's in process.  I will call today to see if i can just leave it or have someone cancel it for me so i can process a new one.  I mean i did submit the payment it's just got the banks name under business.  To me it's not a big deal because this payment is really what they want which is the money for my case and i paid it

It might work out that way.  The problem, if there is one, is that when you do it right, you indicate the account is a personal account of John Doe, not the business account of JP Morgan Chase. Because it is your account and not JP Morgan Chase's business account, somebody is probably going to need to void the payment and reset the system to take a new one properly executed.  I haven't seen this problem discussed before, so I hope I'm wrong.  Please report back and let us know how things get worked out.

Off course i will report back.  I have when people go through an issue and then you don't hear back from them once the issue is resolved.

I will call the NVC later today and report back

I contacted the NVC today and I am not sure the NVC agent gave me the correct answer, but she told me not to worry about me adding the bank's name.  She said I paid the fee and it should go through and if not then to pay it again.  But she said she doesn't think its a big deal.  I will report back if it does go through and I hope it does

@DILAW It is not a big deal, if there is any issue with NVC processing the payment due to the name you used, they will void the payment and your AOS status will go back to "PAY NOW" from "IN PROCESS" and when you navigate to the Receipts tab you will see the transaction line item with payment status as "REJECTED". Then you may attempt to make the payment again.

Mind you that sometimes the payment status may change to "PAID" and switch back to "PAY NOW" if the payment is rejected due to some reasons.

Keep us posted.

...do good and good will be done onto you...

I hope it changes to paid so i can proceed with paying the iv fee.  If it switches to pay now i will off course pay it, but i hope it goes through so i don't get delayed.

I will keep you posted.  I processed the payment on Saturday and they said it takes 2 to 3 business days so my guess is by this Wednesday i would hear something or maybe Thursday
