Haven't been able to update lately or review others' updates, but just wanted to share - things seem to be moving SUPER fast now once you reach the NVC stage. NVC received our info on January 17th, and my fiancé received his packet already, scheduled his medical for the 15th, and his interview has been scheduled for the 22nd. I'm flying to Sweden on the 19th for a couple of weeks and going to Stockholm with him when he goes for the interview. It's suddenly happening so fast, but it's a pleasantry for sure.

Best of luck to everyone else still waiting and taking it step by step. We're almost to the home stretch, you guys!!!

Håll ut, y'all.

Both, technically; he got his packet in the mail, but we both actually got an email beforehand.

And they're not under any holidays at this time, either. Two things crossed my mind which were:

1. "In Transit" simply means that it's there, but no officer has opened the case/file yet. Till they do that and switch the case to "Received", or process it and mark it "Ready"... it'll just stay in the In Transit mode until someones looked at it.

2. "In Transit" means they might actually be processing it...and when they're done and ready for you to send packet 3, that's when they'll update the CEAC site and it'll just be "Ready" at that point.

Maybe i'm dreaming...all speculation of course.

Mine said in transit fir a while but we were still able to book the medical and interview and everything is fine.

If your country lets you book your own interview, you may wasnt to try it.

In Canada, you're supposed to wait til the consulate has received and logged your case before sending Packet 3. Only when they respond with Packet 4 are you authorized to book an interview. I went ahead and just sent Packet 3, just to see what they say lol.

Ughhhhhhhhh. This is SOOOO frustrating already and feels like everything is operating at a snails pace. Not only did we get heavily delayed by the USCIS, where it took 7.5 weeks from USCIS to NVC...but the NVC to Embassy process is taking an eternity as well. Case arrived NVC 01/11, shipped from NVC 1/25... it's now 1/31, still " In Transit " to Canada. Been a week now since it was shipped out. How long does it possibly take to arrive? Every other embassy is taking just a couple days...

That crossed my mind too, just to send it anyways. Let me know if you hear anything! Still nothing on our end... just "In Transit" as usual.....

I feel you. We're so close to the finish line and my patience is wearing thin. Feels like every hurdle we overcome, a new one just conveniently happens to take its place. This doesn't seem normal. I was hoping to get an interview on the 21st since it's right after the long weekend, but doesn't seem like that's gonna happen anymore.

I'll definitely let you know if they respond. I really hope that some movement happens today.

Yep! My Fiance's birthday is end of February and we were hoping that she'd be here for her Birthday, so having an interview around the same time you mentioned as well...who knows now. I suppose there's still a slight chance of that if we get a READY status in the next 48 hours... but, WHAT is with these extreme delays? And why is everything involving Canada operating 2-3x slower than any other embassy? That's what I don't get....it just us two and a few other people that are still on this thread for NVC November 2017 approvals... the reason why everyone else is gone, is because they already had interviews, or are about to have their interviews. Nobody's really left on here.

I thought things would've gone much faster now. There really is no rationale reason for the delay given this is Canada, everything was done electronically, and there is not a mass-migration movement from Canada to the US, so I can't imagine they are just overwhelmed with applications/interviews.

You said it best...every hurdle overcome then feels like another one conveniently takes its place. Everytime you think things are going to get faster now? They go right back to being ultra slow. First was the USCIS 6 month wait...done. Then 7.5 weeks to NVC hurdle/major delay...done. Then NVC taking a while in itself (compared to other embassies)...done. I thought the worst delays were behind us..now it looks like the embassy is just another one. My concern is once our case becomes "READY" on CEAC...and we send Packet 3, we may not get Packet 4 for weeks. That'll be the next hurdle, probably.

Yeah. I never imagined it taking this long, I thought I'd be there by December at the latest. Every target date I set seems to get sh*t on so I just stopped trying to plan it.

I started applying to jobs in the US in October thinking it would take several months for anything to pan out so I was trying to get a head start. I was lucky enough to receive a good offer in November. They are aware of my situation but I'm probably just gonna lose out on it because the amount of time it will take before I'm eligible to work is longer than reasonable if they need to fill the position soon. I let them know a couple weeks ago that it would most likely be in April if I'm able to expedite the EAD and they haven't responded after that. So I already considered it a missed opportunity.

Oh well, things will work out the way they're meant to. Maybe a better opportunity will present itself with this timing, who knows.

Crazy, almost the same story with us...way back in May when we filed the I-129F, we figured we'd be together by Christmas. You said it best, every date keeps getting **** on since then it seems. Not one expectation in terms of timing has come true/been accurate for us. My Fiance in Canada left her job in October and has been waiting since...she was debating then whether to get another job at the time, but we were like "Ah! Why bother, you'll be here by Christmas anyways!"... then Christmas came, "OKAY, it's GOTTA be by like, end of January...hang in there"... so she waits . Now here we are, still waiting. She is immensely tired of the never ending stream of delays and failed expectations about everything. She said she'll give it a couple more weeks and she's going back to work because she's not counting on being here by End of February/early March anymore and I can't really blame her. Lately without work, she's just been bored out of her mind and also has too much time to think about how much longer this/that is going to take. And to every delay? What can I really say? Just a little longer. Just a little longer. It's been just a little longer since last fall already. We see each other every few weeks, but yet the delays are still hard, and are total killjoy on the wedding planning. Everything is in this state of 'limbo' or suspension...waiting...and waiting.

I'm so sorry that's happening to you guys as well. There really was no reason why you wouldn't have been able to start working at that job come April. I'm sure you expected like us to be here by January at the latest; get married ASAP, file EAD and be ready to work come April already (looks like the EAD is taking around 3-4 months, so that would've been accurate). I feel like we're among the last stragglers from the November NOA2 group.
