I received a case number today finally !!! They are still making the electronic files.
Do you think guys it is still possible to schedule the embassy and doctor appointments yet?
What is the website to track the status of a case number?
Thanks.

Finally got our case number today as well! NVC received 1/11, case number today. Said it wasn’t sent to Embassy yet though (Canada), but that it’s done electronically so it should be fast. Wonder how long that will take. Should be a day or two I would think the most since someone already processed it to finally get a case number for it.

I am also concerned about this possible government shutdown and if this will screw all us May filiers again. Delayed at USCIS... lost a month or so there due to the DACA ordeal... now what, government shutdown and another month delay if it affects the nvc or the embassies? Ughhhhhh. I seriously hope not.

When did you call? I called around 7pm and they still didn't have a number for me 😞. Hopefully I get some good news on Monday.

A read from 4 years ago. Dont know how much truth there is behind this based on different year and circumstances.

Oh geez still? I called at 11:15pm maybe that’s why. If ours is done I’m sure yours is as well cause we are the same dates. I just about guarantee you you’ll have it Monday then 😊

Thanks man! I really hope what it says is true... actually I hope this shut down doesn’t last more than a day or two and the government is open again. From what I read in your article and twenty some others I read, the NVC shouldn’t be affected for now unless it was a really prolonged shutdown. Same with the embassies. But of course they don’t specify what and what wouldn’t be affected. Passport services yes, work visas yes (dept of labor closed), but other visas (what other government departments does k1 use? None I can think of...) should still be okay for now from what I read.

Guys, when you fill up the DS-160, be sure to write down the Application ID found at the upper right side corner so you can retrieve the form when you log in again. You might have to fill up another DS-160 if you lost the Application ID.
