I started an investigation at the NVC and a review at the CSC (I also did a lot of other things, but those were the only two actions that yielded results).  Calling USCIS was less than useless as they kept telling me to wait and that they have no way of knowing where the papers are.  After a long wait, the NVC told me the papers were at the NRC and the CSC gave me a new approval date.  The NVC wouldn't start the investigation earlier than six weeks no matter how many people I asked.  I was approved on 9/18 and was finally told my papers were missing on 11/14.

Was that this year?

I talked to our lawyer on Monday and she pretty much said it could be tomorrow or a month. Right now, I think we're at four weeks. I'm crossing my fingers we hear something by Christmas. The plan was that I'd go for a visit around New Year's if we hadn't heard anything, but then we got our NOA2 and I figured that I'd just wait for him to get here. But right now it's feeling like it could still be months and months away. I don't know what to think and I'm just tired. I'm so tired of this. I hate having so much of my life completely out of my control. My zen is fraying.

So we had our chat with NVC, USCIS military hotline and later on an officer yesterday. There is nothing they can tell you in detail. NVC representative told us it is 6 weeks for mailing 2 weeks for scanning now, USCIS told us it can take 6 weeks up to 90 days for the whole process (woooot??) then we asked to talk to an officer. And I would like to point out that on NOA2 they state if there is nothing after 30 days they suggest making inquiry (official government letter right, so no matter what they say an official letter should be the one that provides right info, it’s on paper and according to their current processing rules?). An officer didn’t tell us where is the case just listened to our situation and made 2 inner inquiries, one for NVC and other to CSC

 I don't understand it taking 90 days, aren't NOA2's only good for 90 days themselves ?

Fellow worriers:

I just called USCIS again, and asked to be transfered to a tier 2. I didn't think they'd transfer me on a Friday afternoon, but actually the call volume is very low at the moment, and it only took them 15 minutes to call me back.

The tier 2 officer I spoke with was really kind, and put me on hold to research my case. After he confirmed my details and everything he said "I can see that you called us and spoke with a tier 2 two days ago on Wednesday, December 13th. I want to apologize that you weren't update, but I can confirm that we mailed your case yesterday on Thursday, December 14th to the NVC, so it is confirmed and is on its way now"

Guys I highly recommend calling USCIS and asking them if they have at least mailed your petition. It did bring a sense of relief for me so at least I know it's on the way.

I also reached out to my congressman's office, emailed NVCresearch, and called NVC, and none of them were able to confirm things like the tier 2 did for me. Crossing our fingers for our group. Hopefully we will see some more case numbers come out next week.

I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 officer who asked if I was aware that it can take 90 days to transfer an approved petition from USCIS to NVC.  She also confirmed that approvals are shipped in batches and mine (Nov. 15) was still at USCIS.

Beyond annoyed.

I’m telling you.. no idea what is going on right now and what changed. They keep changing their answers. And btw guys.. on NOA2 they actually wrote they “sent” our petitions to NVC. That’s the biggest joke written in United States Official Goverment paper.. 😩

I just talked to one too and he was super evasive. I don't know why they can't just shoot straight with us.

Yeah I mean this week I was lucky because both tier 2 officers I spoke with this week were really nice and willing to help. I called one 2 weeks ago who was horrible and was almost yelling at me saying she "didn't have to tell me anything because 90 days hadn't passed yet" and that I "need to trust them to handle it".

If you get one that isn't willing to help, I'd try again the next day or so. Some officers are willing to help and some seem to be fed up with their job or are having a bad day.

Have you checked with them? Your NOA2 is before mine, so I'm guessing it was sent along with mine yesterday.

We called USCIS yesterday and an officer called us back, made inquiries. Hopefully it’s sent with yours as well . We are having brake from USCIS and NVC for now and contact them on Monday to verify if there is a progress. Have a good weekend!
