My NOA2 was on Nov 21 and when I called NVC, they said they received the case on Jan 11th. But then I got this email today (I thought they were closed today) in response to my nvcresearch inquiry on Jan 3rd. I really hope it's just outdated or something.

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry. We contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and confirmed that USCIS still has your approved immigrant petition. Per USCIS, your petition is located at the (California Service Center-CSC). USCIS is still working on this petition and will forward it to NVC as soon as their work is complete. Once NVC receives your approved petition, we will contact the visa applicant at the address listed on the petition.

For more information, call USCIS's National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 or visit www.uscis.gov <http://www.uscis.gov>.

Do you have anNVC number or did an operator just tell you it was there?

No NVC number yet, just said it was there. And USCIS told my fiance that they sent it out on Jan 5th.

I’m sure it’ll  be fine tomorrow and you’ll either get your number or find out it’s still at USCIS but NVC is saying, “give us their file”

FYI, I got emails for cases that were not mine on more than one occasion.

Keep us posted please!

Hmmmm, I just got this email from NVC but it doesn’t list a case number. And when I called last night they said they didn’t have a number for me yet. I’ve never heard anyone on here getting an email like this. This also doesn’t sound like an email about K1. Has anyone seen this before?

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry and is ready to accept fees, documents, and forms in support of this immigrant visa application. We will send detailed instructions to the petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record soon.

Please keep in mind for future inquiries that you will need to provide all of the following information with each e-mail or telephone inquiry. That way, we can provide you with a detailed response:

Name of the person submitting the inquiry,

NVC case number or USCIS receipt number,

Petitioner's name, and

Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

NOTE: If the petition is employment-based (I-140), include the employer's company/organization name.

I just got this today even tho I have a case number lol

Ha. You know the more I thought about it and by that thinking about it I mean dwelling all weekend going crazy and even writing a very hateful but polite email to NVC, the more I think they were just replying to email inquiries we sent asking about our case and that was just the standard email. It makes me feel relieved that you got sent one too. Thanks for letting me know.

I think they probably just got to your email inquiry in the order to reply and since they saw you already have a number you get the standard reply too. Has your file left NVC yet?

Does anyone know if the tax return transcripts can be the transcripts we get online from the IRS website or if we need to order the ones in the mail? Same with W2s? Can we just print the stuff online?

You can use the online ones. Select immigration in the drop-down and it will tell you which ones to print.

I would just like to point out to anyone who’s debating getting a lawyer in this process, that it took five minutes for someone on this forum to answer my question, and I can’t get my lawyer to answer an email I sent two months ago. I wish we had known about this forum before we started this process. We wouldn’t have gone with a lawyer probably and could have used the money for AOS fees.

I have like 2014,15,16 tax returns but i have the entire paperwork lol! As the transcripts website never works apparently . Also we have my fiancé current work contract as his employer don’t do letters of employment etc, we have latest bank statements , pay stubs , w2 , stocks and bonds proof . And he’s on $70,000 a year so I hope we are good :-)

Haha I think you have enough. We just got the online transcripts last week. They were down for about a week for maintenance so it’s working back again. Better than waiting 10 days for it to come in the mail.
