If you are past all of the waiting periods (ie, 6weeks from USCIS to NOA2, etc) you must be your own advocate and continue to question and inquire until you get answers.

Just be really careful they don't mention the word "review". Any review will cause delays. That's probably what the congressman is warning about.

Yes, I saw someone who received their NOA2 on Nov 29 got their case number on Friday. So, it makes us excited to call too. Hopefully, when we able to call tomorrow, they have good news for us. Finger crossed! Waiting is the hardest time.

My NOA2 was on Nov 21 and when I called NVC, they said they received the case on Jan 11th. But then I got this email today (I thought they were closed today) in response to my nvcresearch inquiry on Jan 3rd. I really hope it's just outdated or something. 

 

Dear Sir/Madam:

 

 

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry. We contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and confirmed that USCIS still has your approved immigrant petition. Per USCIS, your petition is located at the (California Service Center-CSC). USCIS is still working on this petition and will forward it to NVC as soon as their work is complete. Once NVC receives your approved petition, we will contact the visa applicant at the address listed on the petition.

 

For more information, call USCIS's National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 or visit www.uscis.gov <http://www.uscis.gov>.

They are probably just following up with the initial email, or its just automated. i got an email from USCIS on Friday stating they forwarded to NVC but the following day on Saturday i received an email from NVC stating CSC still had it. I think tomorrow when they open up, everything will be sorted out.
