NVC (November 2017 Approvals)

NVC Case received 8th January. Case number assigned today  (12th Jan). Woo!

I bet it'll be sooner than two weeks. Ours took just a couple days!

Hi everyone. I have a question. Why is it when we enter our case number in NVC's CEAC status checker we have to select "Immigrant Visa Case Number" when the K1 is a non-immigrant visa and we have to complete a DS-160?

My senator got my case forwarded to the NVC today and expedited so I got my case number today, too!  The embassy is being contacted as I type this!  BEST.DAY.EVER!!!!

Thank you, Cristina. but I am a little bit confused. Did NVC receive on Nov 29? What was on Dec 28?

Also, could you give a few more details how the process went with NVC until you had your interview scheduled?

They're sending it along to the embassy and we also got approved for "expedited processing" though I'm really not sure if that means anything or not. Anyone else receive a separate email along those lines after they were assigned a case number?

Congrats. I thought you could only expedite at the USCIS level.

You can expedite the NVC portion, but it's usually not necessary.

You can expedite in NVC but it actually does not mean anything for K1s because we stay in NVC only a few days.

But because everyone is waiting so long right now, I believe this expedite only means the part of smoother NOA2 to NVC. and that's basically it.

 I have regular contact with my congressman is well. Can you tell me how your process went? I got an email yesterday, rather the day before, from her stating that she had contacted USCIS and ask them to please locate the file. 

They told her to call back in 30 days.

I got an email from him today saying he contacted USCIS. Shortly after that I received an email from the CSC saying my case had been forwarded to the NVC. I called the NVC after work and they asked me a lot more questions than normal and then told me my case had arrived today and had been expedited. I received my case, invoice number and instructions. All of this happened today.
